Norrköping Symphony Orchestra, SON, is esteemed as one of the most exciting orchestras in Scandinavia. Through international appearances and CD collections it enjoys great respect both on the national and international stage.
SON was founded in 1912 and today comprises of 86 musicians. As the flagship of Norrköping, the symphony orchestra is central to the region’s cultural life.
Louis De Geer Concert and Congress Hall was inaugurated in 1994 and it is here that the Norrköping Symphony Orchestra has its home. Sitting upon the banks of the Motala River in a unique industrial landscape it is regarded by many as Sweden’s most beautiful concert halls.
Kulturkammaren is Norrköping’s biggest non-profit music and theatre organisation with around 13 different member associations.
At Kulturkammaren you can either participate actively in making music or performing theatre or sit back and relax as a member of the audience.
